Ben Payne, 32, of Fort Walton Beach, Fla., and Emily D’Addario, 22, of Farmington, Conn., prevailed as the men’s and women’s champions over a massive field of runners in the Walt Disney World Marathon in Orlando, Fla., Sun., Jan 12,

Payne ran 2:26:01 to win the men’s race. Michael Wardian, 39, of Arlington, Va., who created quite a stir in running two marathons in one day back in November, finished second in 2:35:23. Martin Rindahl, 50, of Fresno, Calif., finished third in 2:37:08.

D’Addario ran 3:01:07 to win by just over a minute in the women’s race, as Vivian Oliviera, 32, of Sao Paulo, Brazil, and Amy Ostrofe, 27, Suffolk, Va., finished within a second of each other in the battle for second. Olivier was clocked in 3:02:16, Ostrofe in 3:02:17.

There were 19,198 finishers the race.
