Elisha Barno, 30, of Kenya won the California International Marathon in Sacramento, Calif., Sun., Dec. 6 in 2:12:11.
MacDonald Ondara, 30, also of Kenya, was the runner-up in 2:13:23, with Dereje Abera Ali, 36, of Ethiopia making it an African sweep of the winners' podium as he ran 2:15:09 to take third.
First American finisher in the race was Mason Frank, 26, of Bloomington, Ind., who clocked 2:18:34 to place fourth
Serkalem Abrha, 28, of Ethiopia was the women’s winner in 2:31:50.
Gisela Olalde, 31, of Mexico finished second in 2:34:10 and Jane Kibii, 30, of Kenya third in 2:37:00.
The first American across the finish line was Jeanna Composti, 34, of New York City, who clocked 2:39:16 in placing fourth.
