Wow, I really was looking for excuses not to run today. My hip is hurting and it's just my second week back from resting a Runner's Knee injury. But, I need to get back into the flow and made myself go out. I am very glad I did. It didn't feel great during but it does now.

run Sometimes the hardest part of running is just getting the butt out the door. Inclimate weather, soreness or just plain laziness. What ever it is one just has to override it with a stubborn mindset! Good job Mark!

5K training with my son. I was planning to cross just behind him at our 5K next week. But, after that session I told him that he may need to wait for me after he crosses the finish line.

run I love running and racing with my son. But one thing we do, if either of us feel like really burning it we don't hold back. Training or racing...

First half ever.

run How was it? The half is a good challenge and everyone has to put it on their bucket list.

run Thanks for asking. It was a great race. Although it was a Disney event, I ran it seriously. It was very fun to have the that environment around us as we ran. Since it was my first time racing at that distance I wasn't sure if I would stick to my plan or if maybe I would break down near the end. Luckily, my training paid off and I had a great time. Now, I need to see if I can train up for a marathon. But, that is going to take a lot of time and I need to do a few more of these first.

run Glad you had a good experience. I do think it is best to own the half distance before moving up to the marathon. But the marathon is a good challenge. Pick the right marathon. Find one that is flat and a fun course. 26.2 miles is a challenge enough. No need to make it even more challenging the first time out.
