| Fitness Statement | I am near a 50 year vet of the roads! I am the parent of two daughters,27 and 22, and run about 30 races a year across America. I have done this since winning boston in 75. I think I am the only american to have a significant marathon win on five continents.. I am tied with Frank Shorter for third spot World Rankings of Marathoners according to Track and Field News .This is for lifetime rankings. I love to meet new runners/marathoners,and particularly enjoy meeting some of the Vetern runners as well. I am a great fan of our sport. I think its the most competitive sport in the world...and the sport that has the most positive impact on our health and fitness. |

You are getting in some miles there Bill. Sounds like you are going to be ready for the Pleasanton Double. ran asteady pace 2 hr run on trails ;cooler air abig plus;humidity is disappearing from New England at last
That's a nice long run...I am sure you are not sad to see the humidity going away!!!!I ran on the trails atbthe bottom of my street today;humidity is still with us here in Massachsetts;to me its atime to back off;wehen the cooler weather comes i try to ramp up my workouts. After all,we recover so much better in cooler, low humidity conditions...and running is morefun!
we can use our bodies and minds to move faster..
Thanks for posting here. You have no idea how much you inspire me (and probably just about every runner out there)!
The humidity is a killer for me too. As you mentioned, runnis is much more fun when the weather is cool. Today when I ran it was like 64 degrees. I love racing when it is like 45 degrees!Add A New Secret Training Idea
