CommentsI have been running for 51 years and I love it just as much as I did when I first got started. I am running 25 or more races in 2011 and six will be half marathons. I have run 10 marathons over the years but not in the last 25 years. My body likes the 10-mile to half marathon the best. However, I do enjoy racing 5k and 10k too! To Celebrate 50 years of running and racing, I ran 50 races in 2012 and I averaged 6:59/mile for 350.8 miles. In 2013 I ran the Boston Marathon and finished with 3:32:15. I had not run a marathon for 30 years. In 2013 I ran all the Double Road Races and am planning on doing the same in 2014. 
Fitness StatementI run or walk everyday and at least 30 miles per week. To race well I do need to push it at least twice during the week which I have not been doing. This is going to change.

Walking Monday. My left foot is not ready to run yet and my legs got tighter as the day went on. But this is all normal. Just hope the foot doesn't go south.

Three miles easy this morning. My legs still lack life. Taking an extra day of recovery from the 23 miles over the weekend.

run Bob, yesterday my legs and energy were absent altogether and I struggled through 7.2 miles. Today I went out and did 8.6 and felt fine. I agree with Rich. Funny how that works!

runnerBe sure to get all your races entered for the quarter which ended September 30. We will close off the quarter at the end of this month. The top 100 men and top 100 women will be awarded our quarterly medal.

runnerBeen in Kenya for the last week. Just leaving tonight and will be back home Monday night. Kenya Double 21k was great. Samuel was our winner in 1:01:59 on a tough course. I did not run. I was feeling a little sick. If I had run I would have finished last some 10-15 minutes back. Thanks Elam for putting together a good event.

runnerIt is now official Ujena Fit Club member Jerald Kracht is our Double a Racing exclusive producer for the states of Kansas, Nebraska and Oklahoma . Our new sport of Double Racing is taking off. San Jose Double Racing Festival is set for August. It features our Double 15k and our new Double 5k and the Kids Cup Double 1.5 mile. Plus live music and food.

runnerA Double Training Run is coming up this Saturday in Los Gatos California. On July 19 at 8am we will meet at Athletic Performance and then walk down to the Los Gatos Creek Trail for our workout. Come join us. Get ready for the San Jose Double Road Race August 23!

runnerI missed posting my workout yesterday. The deadline is midnight (PST). I ran 4 mikes at 7:57 pace. It was windy. But I wanted to post it here. I clicked on the Fit Log tab and then clicked update. It can be easy to miss the cutoff.
