| Fitness Statement | I have been listed as a 100% disabled veteran since Dec 2003 and a chronic pain suffer for over 20 years.over the last 8 years I have worked to find away to be pain free and mobile again. what i accomplished so far I am completely pain free I go to the gym 5 days a week and alternate between 24 nautilus machines then a quick mile (quick for me) on a elliptical machine on alternating days between the treadmill and elliptical i do 5 miles ..I went from being laid up 30 -45 days at a time too exercising 5 days a week |

| Running Achievements | I started back in July 2010 hardly able to do a mile with the disabilities that i have. To getting myself to running 5 miles on a eliptical and treadmill and still moving forward |
I started the p90x challenge workout yesterday so hopefully after this i will be ready to start running
I ran on a treadmill today for 3.1 miles I did it at a 15% , 10% and 5% incline I reached 6 mph for about 1/2 mile. I averaged a 14 min/mile.
Huge milestone for me today. now I have to just get faster Then start on the open road
3.5 miles at 3.5-5% incline no shin splints starting to like the 5 toe shoes
then a 1.5 miles on elliptical
I purchased a pair of vibram 5 toe shoes yesterday to try for running. i'm following what the company recommends to acclimate myself to these shoes.
i did the treadmill at 15% incline 3.5 mph for a mile
then i went to 3.5% incline at 3.5mph for a 1 1/2 miles
then i did 1/4 mile at 6.5mph twice
This was the first time I was able to do this without getting shin splints
So i am going to keep moving forward and if this improves from here it will be wonderful
Let us know how your 5 toe shoes work out. I don't think they would work for me...Good luck!!!1 set of 12 of 28 different nautilus exercises
then a 7:30 mile on the elliptical
It was nice speaking with you this morning. Good luck with your running program. 3 miles on eliptical in 24 min getting better each week 1 mile reverse on eliptical
then a 1 mile on treadmill
I enjoy the eliptical It has been very good to use on getting myself moving better in the last yearAdd A New Secret Training Idea
Finally back to working out five days a week
now trying to get in shape to start running
GOOD LUCK FRANK!!
One step at a time....
