|Comments||Because I am mainly a Race Walker, it gets pretty lonesome as I see that 10K finish arch without a soul around except for one or two of the Double Race crew. I just have time to grab a banana and head back out for the 5K final. If you look at my times on just plain 5K races, you will see that I really set personal records to come in just under an hour and a half on that 10K lap. But I have finish din both the Double races I've done so far! I expected many more photos of the Pleasanton 2013 race. Where are the award ceremony photos?|

am a member of the LLS Team In Training walk team. We are training to do the Nike Womens Half Marathon in San Francisco in October 2013. We train 3 times per week.
I competed in the National Senior Games this year I did the 1500 Meter Race Walk and the 5000 Meter Racewalk.
|Running Achievements||I completed the San Jose Rock & Roll Half Marathon in 3:29:5 - which was tops for my age group.
I took the bronze medal in my age group for the 1500 M Racewalk at the National Senior Games in Cleveland Ohio this year. Later I discovered that my time for the 1500M was enough to land me on the National Senior Games list of all-time winners!

5000M Race Walk at National Senior Games - An official Attempt at a World Record.
Although I got the gold in my age division, I didn't quite make the world title. Came in about 23 seconds too short. I'll be looking for other USTF events to keep working on that title!
Racewalk. Did fartleks on way out. kept a good pace on the fast portions. Took it easy on recovery sections.
Long, gentle uphill on way home - kept an easy pace.
Workout at gym with Personal Trainer. she is working on building up areas she observed need strengthening as a result of accompanying me on the ST Patrick's Day 5K. Today we worked on strengthening shoulders as well as lower back hip abductors.
Experimenting with new VIRB video camera that can be worn on a harness to capture shots while running or walking. Also working to improve my Racewalking technique to be ready for the One Hour Race on Sunday.

A friend and I decided to just do a leisurely walk to give my hip muscles further time to rest up from Sunday's Double. It was pouring rain when we started but it tapered into a rainbow with clouds and sun. On the last mile, we walked against a very strong head wind. Had breakfast at New Leaf Market.
