The oldest Ujena 5k finisher ever was 97-year-old Migel Lopez. He finished in 53:50 at the recent race held in Puerto Vallarta, Mexico June 16. He has been running and walking his entire life he told us. At the Ujena races this year, 20-year-old Carlos Fernando Gonzalez Quintero set a new world record for the 15k Challenge. He ran 33:40 for 10k and ran 15:34 for 5k. Times are added together for scoring. His total time was 49:15. The 10k is ran at 7:30am followed by the 5k at 9am. 29-year-old Monica Equihoa Solorzano from Mexico City set a new women's world record with 55:02 (36:45 and 18:17). Photo by Steve Manente
